Our Hands-On Review Of The babyGap Trek Jogging Stroller
Key Takeaways
- Jogging stroller with three rubber wheels, the back ones are air-filled with suspension and the front one has a swivel-lock.
- One of the few jogging strollers that is car seat compatible (Britax, Chicco, Evenflo, Graco).
- Has a safety wrist strap, but no handbrake (two back wheel foot brakes).
- Includes a parent organizer and child tray table, but under-carriage storage is narrow.
Scorecard Overview
Safety and Sturdiness: 9/10
The babyGap Trek Jogging Stroller is JPMA certified and it meets or exceeds ASTM and CPSC standards. It includes a 5-point safety harness with soft shoulder pads, ensuring your child’s safety and comfort.
The babyGap Trek Jogging stroller has 16-inch rubber back wheels with suspension providing a smooth ride. The front wheel is 12-inches, has a swivel-lock for rough terrain, and is airless and made from “puncture-proof” material. It has a wrist strap and two footbrakes (one for each back wheel), but there is no handbrake.
The frame feels solid enough, being made from metal and plastic, but there are a variety of plastic pieces that we have already scratched from taking the stroller in and out of the car. Also, because of the weight it is quite sturdy, which was a concern of mine since it has three wheels, but it is a little wobbly when initially unfolding it.
Ease of Use: 9/10
The babyGap Trek Jogging Stroller is surprisingly easy to maneuver, and you can even push and steer with one hand. The stroller has a variety of adjustable features that are easy to use, including an adjustable handlebar, reclining seat, and harness that can be rethreaded.
The babyGap Trek Jogging Stroller can easily be unfolded with one hand by lifting the handlebar up until the stroller locks into place.
To fold the babyGap trek jogging stroller, you need two hands to simultaneously pull a trigger on each side of the handle, just above the canopy. There is also a lock for when it is folded, and we like using the car seat straps for an even smaller fold. Sadly it does not stand by itself when folded, but I imagine that might be a little unsafe with how large and heavy it is anyway.
Durability and Quality: 8/10
As mentioned before, the frame is made from metal and plastic, but isn’t our favorite in terms of quality, since the frame plastic seems to get scratched a little easier than we would have hoped.
The babyGap Trek jogging stroller fabric is made from recycled water bottles (except for the canopy and seat pad), and it feels quite tough and has been able to withstand a lot. There is also mesh lining on the sides of the canopy and the back of the seat to increase airflow.
Comfort: 9/10
Your little one will be riding in style and comfort with the babyGap Trek Jogging Stroller. The suspension system and air-filled tires make for a smooth ride that some of our parents describe as “cloud-walking”. The adjustable leatherette handlebar which can move up and down (but does not telescope out) makes for a comfortable ride for parents too.
Plus, let’s not forget the padded seat, 5-point harness with shoulder pads, extendable canopy with sun visor, and multi-position recline. The seat easily reclines with a strap pulling mechanism and the 5-point harness can be re-threaded to adjust for your child’s height.
The seat reclines to an almost-flat position, but our bigger complaint would be that it doesn’t sit up quite as high as we would like it to, so sometimes our daughter has a hard time grabbing items from her tray.
The babyGap Trek jogging stroller can be used with newborns since it is car seat compatible and supports your little one up to 50 pounds (22.62 kg)! However, the footrest is not adjustable and is does have a height limit of 42 inches (106.7 cm).
Weight and Bulkiness: 7/10
Okay, I’ll admit it. This stroller is no featherweight. It is a little larger and heavier than most of our other recommended jogging strollers, so we recommend getting a smaller compact stroller for trips where you have less trunk space or don’t need the all-terrain tires.
The stroller itself weighs 33 pounds (15 kg), and takes up quite a bit of space folded and unfolded:
Unfolded dimensions: 23.6”W x 46.5”D x 42.3”H
Folded dimensions: 23.6”W x 33.5”D x 18.1”H
Flexibility: 9/10
The babyGap Trek Jogging Stroller is like a Swiss Army Knife of strollers. It’s suitable for infants with the included car seat adapter, and can accommodate kids up to 50 pounds. Whether you’re going for a leisurely stroll in the park or a heart-pumping jog on the trail, this stroller has got you covered.
The babyGap Trek Jogging Stroller is car seat compatible with a variety of car seats, but some require an additional adapter:
- Britax B-Safe 35 (use adapter #10040, sold separately)
- Chicco Keyfit 30 (use adapter #10020, sold separately)
- Evenflo (Embrace, Nurture)
- Graco SnugRide (30, 35, 40)

Capacity and Storage: 8/10
Let’s talk storage. The babyGap Trek Jogging Stroller includes a child tray table, parent organizer, and a basket underneath the seat to hold your essentials. Each one can hold up to 3 pounds, which really isn’t that much for the undercarriage storage. Plus, the undercarriage storage is narrow, making it too small for my large diaper bag.
We do love that the undercarriage can be unsnapped and removed for easy cleaning, as can the parent organizer. The child tray table swings out of the way when putting your little one in, and it helps to hold and support car seats.
Design: 9/10
I’ve gotta say, this stroller looks pretty sleek for a jogging stroller. It’s available in three colors and the babyGap branding adds a nice touch of fashionable flair, because who says you can’t look good while breaking a sweat?
The versatile seat cover is reversible, showing either a pattern design or solid color, depending on your preference.
Price: 9/10
Now, the babyGap Trek Jogging Stroller isn’t exactly a budget buy, but is definitely in range for the jogging stroller market. It is comfortable, durable, and offers a smooth ride in a fashionable way.

In summary, the babyGap Trek Jogging Stroller is excellent for walking on a variety of surfaces like bumpy sidewalks, grass, or even sand. It is an excellent jogging stroller, for the casual jogger.
